Training ROI Calculator
Turn training from a cost line into a strategic investment.
Why is "participants liked it" not enough?
Most companies measure training success solely through participant feedback — "did they like it?" and "would they recommend it?". But that is only Level 1 (reaction) on the Phillips model. What leadership wants to know is Level 5: did the investment pay for itself in euros?
What does this change for you?
1. Training becomes an investment, not a cost. If you can demonstrate that a €5,000 training programme generated €15,000 in productivity gains, the next training budget request becomes significantly easier.
2. You know the real price. The cost of training is not just the provider's invoice — it also includes participants' work time and potential downtime costs (substitute or revenue loss). Our calculator accounts for all three.
3. The result is honest. The confidence level helps distinguish the training's impact from other factors. If sales grew but a new campaign launched at the same time — how much of the growth was due to the training? This honesty check makes the result credible in leadership's eyes.
The calculator is based on Jack Phillips' 5-level ROI model — an internationally recognised standard for measuring the financial impact of training. The detailed methodology is described in the calculator's "Calculation methodology" button.
